How do we run the club?
Latvian Water Polo Federation will organise a swimming club during the whole school season (September to mid-June incl.) on a weekly basis. All students of the school will be split into groups of not more than 12 students per group based on their floating & swimming skills (age is not as important as the skills!). Those who need to learn basic skills will train in a shallow swimming pool. However, more experienced swimmers will train in the large, deep swimming pool. The coach decides. The content of the lessons will be adjusted by the coach to the averaged skills of the particular group. The coach will follow the progress and gradually drive students to develop their awareness of the water, floating, submerging, gliding and swimming skills while having fun in the water. Students might get switched between the groups during the season depending on their progress and vacant student slots available in other groups. Since the time of the swimming pool is booked specifically for the school no late arrivals are allowed. For safety reasons not more than 12 students are allowed per group. All groups has to be accompanied by the attendant teacher of the school for safety reasons. Coaches Latvian Water Polo Federation ensures that all coaches involved have a proper qualification and permissions to run swimming club. Coach assistants might also participate in the training sessions. The lessons can be delivered by the coach either in Latvian, English or mixed. Attendant teachers’ assistance needed for other languages. About Latvian Water Polo Federation
